Dr Surv. Wilfred K. Anim-Odame started his career as a Valuer at the erstwhile Land Valuation Board in December 1993 after obtaining his BSc. (Hons) Land Economy Degree from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana in 1990. He has an MSc. in Property Investment and PhD. in Finance (with specialization in Real Estate Finance and Investment) from the prestigious Cass Business School, City University, London in 1998 and 2009 respectively. He also obtained Post-Graduate Diplomas from Lund University, Sweden in 1996 and the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 2001.
He has over the past years uniquely developed a sterling career and also rose through the ranks to become the Director of the Land Valuation Division of the Lands Commission in 2010. On 29th May, 2012, Dr. Anim-Odame was appointed the Acting Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission. Through hard work and a demonstration of good leadership, he was confirmed as the substantive Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission in July 2014.
Dr Anim-Odame is research oriented and highly rated by his peers for his outstanding research works as an industry practitioner. He has delivered research papers at several international Conferences in Europe, United States of America and widely in Africa. His primary research interests are in the fields of land administration, real estate finance and investment, and property markets development. A number of his research works have been published in international peer reviewed Journals including the Journal of Real Estate Literature, International Journal for Housing Market Analysis, and Journal for Business and Estate Management Research.
As a recipient of many international awards, notably, the World Bank/IFC award for outstanding research contributions to the Doing Business Project in March 2008 and the West African Nobles Forum award for upholding the virtues of Honesty, Integrity and Accountability in 2015, Dr Anim-Odame is committed to excellence.
Dr Anim-Odame is a member of the International Federation of Surveyors, American Real Estate Society and the African Real Estate Society. He is also a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Indeed, Dr Anim-Odame brings on board a solid background and rich experience to provide good leadership at the Lands Commission.
