BE DILIGENT IN YOUR WORK- REGIONAL LANDS OFFICER URGES STAFF

The Regional Lands Officer of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission, Mr. Stephen Oduro Kwarteng, has called on staff of the Commission to be diligent in their work in order to optimize their output.

He said even though last year the Commission was able to issue about 92 percent of all the applications put in for land certificate there was still room for improvement.

Mr. Oduro Kwarteng was speaking at an end of year dinner and award ceremony held last Friday and organized by the Commission to reward retired and serving staff.

He urged the staff to continue to give of their best in order to uplift the image of the Commission.

A total of 21 members of staff including 13 retirees were awarded for their meritorious service to the Commission over the years. He said the relocation of the Commission’s office from Adum to its current location at Danyame had affected its revenue generation since clients found it difficult to travel to the new location to transact business with it. He said the Commission recorded a marginal increase of 5.6 percent in revenue. That notwithstanding, he said the Commission had been able to improve tremendously on the preparation of cadastral and parcel plans.
