The Eastern Regional Lands Commission has implemented several security upgrades, including the installation of CCTV cameras, clock-in devices, and an electronic access door at the records office.
These initiatives aim to improve staff focus, enhance data security, manage visitors more efficiently, and promote overall accountability.
Surveyor Alhaji Issah Mahama, the Regional Lands Officer, emphasized that the clock-in devices would improve attendance and punctuality, ensuring staff are present and working efficiently. He added that these measures contribute to a more secure and accountable work environment.
Surv. Alfred Ofosu-Djan, Head of the Public and Vested Land Management Division, explained that the CCTV cameras were installed to monitor activities, particularly in the records office, which holds sensitive land records. He also stressed that limiting unauthorized access enhances data security, while the cameras promote transparency and accountability by monitoring both staff and visitors.
Mr. Isaac Odame, Head of the Records Management Unit, noted that the electronic access door has significantly increased staff efficiency by reducing interruptions, allowing officers to focus better on their tasks.
He further highlighted that controlled access has improved visitor management, reducing disruptions to workflow.
These security improvements reflect the Commission’s commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring a more productive and secure work environment.
