The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, has inaugurated the Savannah Regional Lands Commission Board at a ceremony held in Damongo on Thursday, May 8, 2025. The event, which marks a significant step in the decentralization of land administration in Ghana, was chaired by the Savannah Regional Minister.
The newly inaugurated board is expected to oversee and guide land administration matters across the Savannah Region, ensuring effective and transparent land governance.
Members of the board, drawn from various stakeholder institutions, were officially sworn into office. The ceremony also saw the swearing-in of Chief Haruna Sulemana Sachibu as the Chairman of the Regional Lands Commission Board.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Yusif Sulemana commended the board members for their willingness to serve and urged them to work with integrity, professionalism, and a sense of responsibility to ensure efficient land management and the protection of public interest.
The Savannah Regional Minister, in his remarks, expressed confidence in the board’s ability to help resolve land-related challenges and contribute meaningfully to the region’s development agenda.
