The newly inaugurated Bono East Regional Lands Commission Board has been tasked to fast-track the land registration process and ensure that applications are completed within 30 working days. This directive came from the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Sulemana Yussif, during the official inauguration ceremony held in Techiman.
Addressing members of the board and stakeholders at the event, Hon. Yussif emphasized the need for efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness in land administration. He noted that delays in land registration have historically hindered development, discouraged investment, and created room for land disputes. According to him, expediting the process will not only enhance public confidence but also support the government’s broader agenda of improving land governance and promoting socio-economic development in the region.
He charged the board to uphold professionalism and to work diligently in delivering on their mandate within the stipulated timelines.
The Regional Minister for Bono East, Dr. Francis Owusu Antwi commended the Ministry for prioritizing the region and urged the board to maintain integrity in all its operations. He reiterated the region’s readiness to support the commission’s work to ensure lasting solutions to land-related challenges in the area.
The newly appointed Regional Chairman of the Bono East Lands Commission Board, Lawyer John Owusu Agyemang expressed his gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and pledged the board’s commitment to delivering efficient and people-centered land administration services. He assured the public that the board would work hand in hand with traditional leaders, district assemblies, and other stakeholders to ensure land-related issues are addressed promptly and justly.
The event, which took place in the regional capital, brought together chiefs, opinion leaders, municipal officials, and staff of the Lands Commission. It forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to operationalize regional land administration structures across the country in accordance with the Constitution.
