In a colorful and very touching event, held at the Best Western Premier, Airport, on August 23rd, 2023, the Lands Commission bid a glorious farewell to its former Executive Secretaries(Surv. Daud Sulemana Mahama & Surv. James Ebo Dadson).
The event commenced with an opening prayer, setting a reflective tone for the day. The National Chairman of the Lands Commission Lawyer Alex Quaynor welcomed the attendees and eloquently articulated the purpose of the gathering, emphasizing the significant contributions of the outgoing Executive Secretaries.
The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, responsible for Lands and Forestry, Hon.Benito Owusu-Bio on behalf of the Sector Minister, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor congratulated the duo for their contribution towards land administration in Ghana.
He applauded Mr. Dadson and Alhaji Sulemana for giving so much of their lives to building a better land administration system than it was before.
Highlighting the dedication and hard work of the departing executives, Surv. Yvonne Sowah( Chairperson of the Greater Accra Lands Commission) and Mrs. Yaa Agyeman Boadi (Director, LRD) presented citations and thoughtful presents to express gratitude on behalf of the organization.
The Lands Commission Ladies Association (LACOLAS) also presented gifts to the retiring former Executives for always supporting them.
The former Executive Secretaries took the stage to deliver heartfelt speeches, reminiscing about their journey and expressing their hopes for the future of the Lands Commission.
The Ag. Executive Secretary (Surv. Benjamin Arthur) also shared remarks, acknowledging the legacy left behind and the path ahead.
The program reached its climax with attendees sharing goodwill messages, recognizing the impact of the former Executive Secretaries, and wishing them success in their future endeavors.
The event not only celebrated the accomplishments of the former Executive Secretaries but also highlighted the sense of unity and community within the Lands Commission. As the sun set on this meaningful gathering, it was clear that the bonds formed would endure beyond the farewell, fostering a legacy of collaboration and shared purpose.
