Management of the Public Vested and Land Management Division (PVLMD) has conducted a one-day staff capacity-building workshop at the Ghana Free Zones Board’s conference facility.
The training session which came off on August 1, 2024, was designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees, ultimately improving their job performance.
Surv.Yvonne Sowah, Chairperson of the Greater Accra Region, in her opening remarks, encouraged participants to pay close attention to details and diligently apply the insights gained to their daily tasks, emphasizing the critical role of ongoing education in cultivating a highly effective workforce.
The workshop featured a series of enlightening presentations. Mr. Stanley Okoh kicked off the sessions with a focus on Customer Service and Customer Relations. He underscored the significance of the Commission’s motto, “Client Satisfaction is our Goal,” urging staff to embrace a customer-centric approach in aligning organizational objectives with client needs.
Next was Mr. Odoi Yemoh who delivered a comprehensive overview of Records Management, tracing its evolution and importance within the Lands Commission. He stressed the necessity of maintaining precise and well-organized records to support the Commission’s operations effectively.
Acting Director of PVLMD, Surv.Cynthia Odametey touched on Rent Management. Her presentation explored strategies for boosting revenue and optimizing fund mobilization, aimed at strengthening the division’s financial sustainability.
Mr. Sebastian Kwara Esq., representing the Land Registration Division (LRD), in his presentation, highlighted challenges faced by the division during the registration process.
Management assured that these issues would be addressed to streamline work procedures.
The Acting Regional Lands Officer for Greater Accra, Surv. Timothy Anyidoho Esq. spoke on accountability and teamwork. He emphasized the shared responsibility of staff in managing state lands and adhering to established protocols.
Surv. Kwasi Owusu Peprah, Regional Head, concluded the presentations by advocating for inter-divisional support and collaboration, calling for unity in achieving the Commission’s objectives.
The event culminated with Surv. Yvonne Sowah’s closing remarks, where she commended the staff for their active participation and encouraged them to implement their newly acquired knowledge to contribute to both the Commission’s growth and national development.
The training session also served as a great platform for knowledge and experience sharing and bonding. The workshop had an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing staff to seek clarification on various issues, thus ensuring a productive and successful workshop.
